When it's Midsummer's Day,
you've 130 family and friends along for support,
a few more coming along later,
and there's a splendid marquee in a picturesque setting for all to enjoy ...
Sounds like a good day for a wedding.

Sports Dinner fills the tent. (Jun. 2006)
Former Everton striker Duncan McKenzie (left) and ex-reds keeper Bruce Grobbelaar were the guest speakers
at this year's sports celebrity dinner in the marquee.
The evening was a lively one,
and was well supported both by members and by local businesses and their guests.
Bruce and Duncan are pictured above with Northern president Paul Davies.
Evertonian Shaun Parry proved again what every true blue knows already about his red counterparts,
outwitting them in a contest to match with Bruce's choice of reds team and picking up the cash prize.
Shaun is pictured with the other two stars of the evening.

Snooker Team successful again. (Jun. 2006)
The cross-sectional snooker team has gone from strength to strength!
S&A came and were conquered convincingly,
with wins for Andy Davies, Paul Davis, Tom Fitzgerald, Dave Gill, Steve Nieman and captain Johnny Forrest,
providing the Northern squad's leader with another ideal opportunity to adopt silly poses with a small trophy.
The team is proving a great success, with a hardcore of around 12 members,
and also included Mark Harrop, George Parry and John Sumner for this match.
There are return matches to come with S&A and the Gunners,
and the team is also on the look-out for fixtures with other opponents.

Marty Stone raises the roof (May. 2006)
The night of music and comedy with Marty Stone lived up to its pre-event billing, with a great time had by all.
Says event organiser Anne Sheils, ‘What a fantastic evening! This guy was just brilliant, a real good all-round entertainer.’
Marty is already booked for a return visit next year. Support this time was disappointing, with just 44 people attending.
But they had such a good night out that Anne is confident that the word will get around, and hopes for a sell-out next time.
Amid the music and the merry banter,
the lowlight of the evening featured Marty's stirring rendition of the Full Monty.
As we're a family show, here's just the top half of the monty!
‘Thank you to all those who attended and made it such a great evening.’ says Anne.
‘We have already made a booking for this guy to come back to the club on 10th February 2007, so please watch the notice board for ticket sales.’
Book your seats early for the next Full Marty?
