|

featuring entertainment and various other activities and amusements for the children, and refreshments for the grown-ups.
|
|
The event was anchored by children's entertainers Mr Stix and Peanuts,
who brought their circus tricks, bouncey castles and disco, in addition to their stage show.
The afternoon was supplemented by competitions for budding sportsmen and artists,
a treasure hunt and impromptu family games.
Good time had by all.

AGM proposals passed. (Mar.2003)
At the AGM, two proposals were put, and both were passed. The first, a rule change to indemnify the trustees against personal liability, was passed unanimously (except for Frank!).
The second, a mandate to designate the lounge as a non-smoking area, was passed by majority with around 70% in favour,
subject to House Committee implementing it as a workable bye-law.

Winter Season of Bar Sports. (Jan.2003)
Remember those long winter nights when there's nothing decent on television,
and the club is still suffering its New Year hangover.
Well they're here again. But wait ...
Saturday 18.January saw the return of a Bar Sports evening to the club.
The inaugural event staged a contest between teams from hockey and cricket,
with around 40 participants enjoying the evening.
We intend to arrange further events between other teams and sections,
with the next scheduled for Saturday 8.February when squash may participate too.
So why not pop down for a glass of something ?
Don't sit at home staring at the wall, come and meet up with your mates at the club,
and make new acquaintances from the other sections. All welcome.
Thanks to John Dooley for the idea and the organisation.
If you would like to join in, speak to John, e-mail the club address, or just get down to the club and let everyone know.
