Ian Douglas steps down. (Mar.2010)
After many years of coaching our young upcoming players, Ian Douglas has decided to call time, and hand over the reins on our Beavers team. Until very recently, Ian also ran our Sunday morning junior coaching sessions, before passing on to concentrate on his Saturday role managing the Beavers.
To mark his contribution, a presentation was made to Ian at the hockey dinner.
Ian recounted how his winter sport had been rowing, until his mid-twenties when a friend asked him to 'make up numbers' in a hockey fixture. Having caught the hockey 'bug', he played his way up the senior hockey teams, before moving on to the Beavers at the end of his own playing career.
Ian's role has been pivotal in providing a hockey introduction to numerous of our young starlets over the years, who have then moved up to our senior teams. We wish Ian an enjoyable and well-earned rest.

Up-coming hockey events in the club. (Jan.2010)
Happy New Year!
Hope we are all enjoying the winter hockey, definitely two pairs of socks weather !!

Saturday night 30th.January there is a 'Race Night' - all the fun of going to the races without the freezing weather AND a buffet and children welcome. Forget the Euro millions you could be a winner at the RACE NIGHT and raise funds for the Hockey section.

We all know how clever Hockey parents are, and now it's our chance to prove it ! There is a 'Pub Games' night on Saturday 20th.February. A Badgers versus Beavers parents team could be a real battle, or parents versus the rest of the world !
