Training

Training will continue up to the end of the season. 3 more weeks to go.

Whilst the venue is a short drive the facilities are good. It is expensive for the club to book this pitch so a high attendance is needed to cover cost. Currently we are charging £2 per session.

Junior Training

Sunday mornings 10-30 until 12 remain very popular.  Even on the week there was no training 25 young people came. A big thanks to all those who have helped out.

Men's Team‘s

The first team has had a mixed season much like last year. They have played some outstanding hockey and some poor hockey. Having spent much of the season in the top 4 it now appears that the final result will be a mid table finish.

The second team have had a very successful season and remain in 3rd spot probably a result of the loss of the first couple of games of the season. There is still time to overtake Southport and finish with a guaranteed promotion spot. Even a 3rd place finish may be enough.

The Northern Men’s 3rd Team have had a great season in Division 9 South. They have been top for much of the season and providing they maintain form should be promoted. They are likely to have a championship decider against Alderley Edge before the end of the season. Maximum support would be appreciated.

The Badgers and Beavers now have consistent squads and despite playing against older and bigger teams have achieved creditable results. We have also managed to put out a couple of under 11 teams so the future is bright.

AGM

The AGM will be on the 19th March with the dinner and prize giving being straight afterward. A notice for nominations to various positions is now up. We are happy to have several nominations for each post and an election would be fun.

The committee have asked if we could change one of the AGM traditions to bring us into line with other sections and to ensure everyone has an equal chance to stand for posts. A tradition has built up of the new chair buying members a drink after the AGM. This can prove costly £120. The new chairman will be asked not to continue this tradition. Ideally the section should all buy the chairman a drink instead!
