Lancs Vets take Twenty20 clash. (May.2009)

A series of Veterans Twenty20 fixtures got underway, as part of our 150th celebrations,
as our Northern Masters team took on a Lancashire Cricket Board Select XI.
Our president Andy Davies (above left) was entrusted with the summer ball a few weeks earlier than scheduled,
while former Lancs and Somerset all-rounder Andy Hayhurst (above right) featured for the visitors with an undefeated 26.

Phil Sloan (below left) has his sights set firmly on the bowling green (nothing changes there, then?),
as Northern veterans past, present and future look on.

Lancs closed on 153 for 4 after their allocated 20 overs, with Northern Masters falling 33 runs short in reply.
Club captain Phil Cooper with 2 for 25, Andy Davies retired undefeated on 50, and Phil Sloan with 42, were our leading performers.

Roses match at Northern. (May.2009)

Lancashire took on old rivals Yorkshire in a 4-day second team Roses clash, beginning on 12th.May.
Northern old boys Karl Brown (14) and Steve Mullaney featured for the hosts,
while former England man Craig White (13) was included in the visitors line-up.

Cricket returned to Moor Park on a blue and sunny early-April Saturday.
The firsts warmed up with a friendly
against a Bamford Field House team including Northern old boys Stephen Parry and Paddy McKeown.
Northern posted 155 off their allotted overs, John Wildman (above) making his return with a top-scoring 84.

Senior Indoor Nets will start on Sunday 22nd February at Sacred Heart (Lower Site), from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
£3 for adults
£2 for juniors, restricted to those playing in Saturday teams.
ps.. if you haven't paid your subs, bring a cheque with you.

Junior Indoor Nets begin on Friday 6th March, also at Sacred Heart (Lower Site), from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
The session will be split, with younger players (U12 and below) in the first hour, and older players (U13 and above) from 8:00pm.
