Simon Bell fixture defies the downpours. (Jul.2009)
Camels regained the Simon Bell Trophy, when the fixture was hastily transferred to the school pitch after a lunchtime downpour had rendered the 3 club pitches unplayable.
In the 25 overs-a-side possible, Camels posted 157-7 with Lawrence Armstrong top-scoring. Northern, fielding a very young team, were 30 short in reply, with Ben Sloan completing an undefeated half century.
Chris Bell is pictured presenting the trophy to the winning captain Chris Firth,
with Camels team manager Simon Sutcliffe (left) and Northern captain Phil Cooper in attendance.

Northern hosts Under 9s Tournament. (Jun.2009)
Over 250 people attended the U9 LCB tournament held at Northern on the final Sunday of June.
14 teams from all over Merseyside competed
and although Northern’s team (pictured) won 3 of their 4 group games
they were unluckily denied a place in the semi finals on net run rate.
The final was won by New Brighton who defeated Southport in a close game.
It was a good day too for that fine body of men, known otherwise as the Men’s Hockey section,
who ran the BBQ and made a fortune towards new shirts for their section!
