Whether we’re Clinton, Bush or Blair, Tiger, Beckham, or Schwarznegger,
whether we’re rich or poor, we all have something to thank our wives for.
This autumn will be music to every wife’s ears as millions of us will raise
our glasses to celebrate “WIFE’S DAY” on September 23, this
year.
Wife’s Day is about recognition, romance and reward. Its announcement will
convert millions of men in to thankful husbands.
Originator of the idea Jim Petafi said, “ I have every reason to celebrate. I
wouldn’t be around today without the devotion of my wife Maggie”. He
wrote a book about his life changing experience in which Maggie featured as a real
star. In looking for a unique way to thank her, it struck Jim that there was no
"Wife's Day" in our calendar – there were other less significant days, but no
“Wife’s Day”
Jim often ponders why no one ever thought of "Wife's Day" before, and he asks:
-
Is it because wives aren’t worthy of it?
Is it because there aren’t enough days in a year to honor them? OR
Aren’t there enough roses to say it with?
Modest Maggie says, “I don’t want to take credit for something which I
consider to be my duty. In fact, I saved Jim from himself ”.
She adds, “ Wife’s Day is a brilliant idea and I’ll certainly let
Jim spoil me to his heart’s content”.
Sir Steve Redgrave has this to say: “The 23rd of
September is a very significant date for me as it is the anniversary of winning my
fifth consecutive gold medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney.
A day of reflection of my sporting career, but also a day of thoughts for so many
people who helped me along with my career no more so than my wife Ann who was an
athlete in her own right. Without her support structurally and emotionally I would
never have achieved the heights that I did. So I am very supportive of the
Wife’s Day”.
Folks! Countdown has begun and wait is over, “ Wife’s Day” is
